Pro BonoWe support the profession’s commitment to public service through its attorneys’ voluntary, pro bono efforts. Firm sanctioned pro bono effort must be limited to the practice of intellectual property law and be provided by, or supervised by, a shareholder of the firm. If an associate of the firm is aware of a public service opportunity and wishes to pursue it, the associate must solicit the support and active supervision of a shareholder prior to commencing any services. Appropriate draft hour credit will be awarded to legal staff participating in a pro bono effort. Any opportunity an attorney has to participate in handling pro bono matters would depend on an analysis of the particular circumstance, especially as it relates to malpractice liability. |
