Spend a Summer with HBSR!

Summer interns at Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds enjoy a valuable opportunity in the summer after their second year of law school to experience the work environment and the depth of resources available within the Firm. Structured activities including technical and legal research, reviewing applications during their development and drafting basic supporting documents are scheduled and tracked during the internship. Summer interns are also included in ongoing, in-house training events during their internship. A variety of social activities are coordinated to allow the interns to meet other staff and gain an appreciation of the Firm’s culture.

For third year law students who have committed to a career in intellectual property law, we offer some of the most challenging opportunities to work with as high-profile a client list as you will find in any IP practice in the country, including many major corporations and institutions as well as individual, entrepreneurial inventors. You will use your technical or scientific background to assist in crafting effective patent prosecution strategies for leading edge thought and innovation. As part of a team, you will develop an appreciation for the role that intellectual property protection plays in the client’s business planning and success. Our training and mentorship programs will support an array of challenging assignments toward the ultimate goal of developing your own base of clients.
