Alexander Adam, Ph.D

Alexander Adam practices in the areas of computer systems, electronics, mechanical devices, medical devices, software, and telecommunications.

Alexander’s legal experience includes working at the firm as a Summer Associate as well as an intern at a Waltham-based law firm.  Alexander has drafted and prosecuted patent applications in the fields of electronics, imaging software, control systems, and medical devices.  He also has experience in IP litigation and in providing invalidity and non-infringement opinions. 
 
While in law school, Alexander was a team member of both the Giles Sutherland Rich Memorial Moot Competition and the Foreign Direct Investment International Moot Competition. He also served as a Lead Articles Editor for the Journal of High Technology Law and authored “Technology Transfer to Combat Climate Change: Opportunities and Obligations Under TRIPS and Kyoto” 9 J. HIGH TECH. L. 1 (2009).

Prior to his legal career, Alexander worked at Boston University’s NeuroMuscular Research Center as a research assistant professor and co-supervisor in the Motor Unit Laboratory.  His technical expertise is in the area of bio-signal detection and analysis, sensor design, biomechanics, and digital signal processing. 
 
Alexander’s dissertation, Control of Motor Units During Submaximal Fatiguing Contractions, explored the neural regulation of human muscle activity through in-vivo recordings and mathematical modeling.  He has co-authored over ten scientific articles which have been published in numerous journals including The Journal of Applied Physiology, The Journal of Neurophysiology and The Journal of Neuroscience Methods.  

Alexander is also fluent in German.
