Numerous Firm Attorneys Appointed to Boston Patent Law Association Openings

Deirdre SandersConcord, MA - Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds congratulates six of its attorneys for being newly appointed as an association officer or co-chairs of various Boston Patent Law Association (BPLA) committees.

Principal Deirdre Sanders has been recognized for her dedication to the Boston Patent Law Association by being newly appointed as Secretary. Previously, Deirdre was involved with the BPLA as a Board Member.

Susan Glovsky and Larry CogswellPrincipal Susan Glovsky and Senior Associate Larry Cogswell have been appointed co-chairs of the BPLA's Antitrust Committee. This committee educates the association on the activities of the Federal Trade Commission and the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice as they may impact the intellectual property laws. Susan is the founder of the BPLA Litigation Committee and is a founding member and current Co-Chair of the BPLA’s Committee on Contested Matters. Larry is also co-chair of the Boston Bar Association's Life Sciences Committee, IntJohn Hamannellectual Property Law Section.

Also appointed is Principal John Hamann, who is now co-chair of the BPLA Licensing Committee. This committee explores the different approaches to licensing which may be required based on the type and value of the intellectual property involved, the relationship of a licensing strategy to the desired business objectives, and the nature of the business enterprise impacted by the license.

Keith WoodSenior Associate Keith Wood is the new co-chair of the International and Foreign Practice Committee. This committee aids the association with staying current on substantive changes in foreign national and international law in all areas of intelletual property practice. Previously, Keith volunteered as a Committee Chair for the Energy Special Interest Group (Energy SIG) of the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge.

Associate Chris Albert has also been appointed as co-chair of the Chemical Patent Practice ComChris Albertmittee. This committee focuses on U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, litigation, licensing and regulations and laws relating particularly to chemical inventions, including pharmaceuticals, specialty chemicals and polymers.
