Invented Here!

Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds is sponsoring Invented Here!, a new initiative of the Museum of Science, in collaboration with the Boston Patent Law Association, celebrating New England's breakthrough inventions and inventors. By recognizing these innovators, their inventions, and the stories behind them, Invented Here! advances the Museum's mission of transforming the nation's relationship with science and technology.

The following inventions and their inventors will be recognized at the event, and three will be announced as this year's Invented Here! honorees in a special Current Science & Technology presentation:

  • Treatment of Autism and Fragile X Syndrome (Brown University and Emory University). Lead Inventor: Mark Bear
  • Improved Lithium Ion batteries (MIT and A123). Lead Inventor: Yet-Ming Chiang
  • Control System of Diabetes (Boston University and University of Illinois). Lead Inventor: Edward Damiano
  • Nanowires (MIT). Lead Inventor: Eric Dauler
  • Distributed Imaging (Tenebraex). Lead Inventor: Peter Jones
  • Microdroplet Fluid Dispersion (Harvard College and University of Toronto). Lead Inventor: Darren Link
  • Black Silicon (Harvard University). Lead Inventor: Eric Mazur
  • Cellular Network Geo-location (Skyhook Wireless). Lead Inventor: Ted Morgan
  • Bioplastics (Metabolix). Lead Inventor: Oliver Peoples
  • Temporal Thermometer (Exergen). Lead Inventor: Francisco Pompei
  • Treatment for Gaucher Disease (Genzyme). Lead Inventor: Craig Siegel
  • Powered Orthotic Device for Stroke Victims (MIT, licensed to Myomo). Inventors: John McBean & Kailas Narendran
