October 15, 2014

Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds is pleased to be a sponsor of the Smaller Business Association of New England's (SBANE) 2014-2015 Breakfast Series, which provides monthly seminars on various topics. SBANE's October event, "Exceeding Expectations in Business and in Life, The Davio's Way," was held on October 15, 2014, from 7:00 - 9:00 a.m. at the Westin Hotel in Waltham, MA.

SBANE Event Description:

SBANESteve DiFillippo, Chef and CEO of Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse, is the consummate restaurateur. Now he is sharing his successful business strategy and experiences on interpersonal, financial, managerial, philosophical, emotional and technical lessons learned and encountered along the way to becoming a successful restaurateur and business professional.

In 1985 at just 24 years old, Steve purchased his first restaurant – Davio’s. The original Davio’s was opened in 1977 as a family-owned Italian restaurant with local charm. As Boston’s culinary tastes began to develop and became more refined, he transformed the location into a fine dining destination by retooling the menu, the space, and the wine list.

Since then, he has opened locations in Boston, Chestnut Hill, Lynnfield, Foxborough, New York, Atlanta and Philadelphia. What does he attribute much of his success to? His involvement in the community, his need to evolve to meet new expectations, and the people he hires. Many of his employees have remained since he purchased his first Davio’s.

Steve graduated from Boston University in 1982 and attended The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts. He is actively involved in many groups and boards including Taste of the NFL, Rodman Rid for Kids, BUILD Inc., Raising-a-Reader and The Boston Dining Alliance. He has co-chaired the annual Working Wonders Gala & Fundraiser for Tufts Medical Center.

From Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds, Ron Demsher attended.
