Laurence A. Shumway, Ph.D. Promoted to Associate at Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds
CONCORD, MA, November 22, 2011—The intellectual property law firm of Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds has promoted Laurence A. Shumway, Ph.D. to Associate, following his swearing in to the Massachusetts Bar. Dr. Shumway’s practice focuses on client counseling, due diligence and patent preparation and prosecution in the areas of biotechnology, chemistry, clean energy, and pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Shumway earned a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, summa cum laude (’01), a B.S. in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Commonwealth Scholar (’01), his Ph.D. in Biophysics from Harvard University (’07) and his J.D. from Boston College Law School (’11).
