Pamela A. Torpey Promoted to Principal and Shareholder at Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds

The intellectual property law firm of Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds has promoted Pamela A. Torpey to Principal and Shareholder.
Ms. Pamela Torpey counsels clients in the development, management and strategic protection of their intellectual property portfolios, including patents, trademarks and trade secrets. Pamela strives to understand all facets of each client’s business goals to provide dedicated, comprehensive and successful client service. Her practice focuses on the areas of biotechnology and organic chemistry, including polymer chemistry and pharmaceuticals.
Pamela’s clients benefit from her extensive experience with freedom-to-operate assessments, competitive intelligence studies and product clearances. She has significant experience in conducting due diligence investigations and providing opinions of counsel. Her opinion work includes infringement and validity assessments of utility patents in the pharmaceutical, chemical and biological arts. Pamela has also guided clients with establishing corporate intellectual property programs, and advised them in licensing matters and early-stage financing due diligence.
Pamela received a J.D. from New England School of Law and a B.S. in Biochemistry, cum laude and with distinction in the field, from Emmanuel College. Pamela’s scientific experience includes conducting research for over a decade in academic and industry settings.
