Vivien J. Tannoch-Magin, Ph.D. Promoted to Principal and Shareholder at Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds

The intellectual property law firm of Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds is pleased to announce the promotion of Vivien J. Tannoch-Magin, Ph.D., to Principal and Shareholder.
Dr. Vivien Tannoch-Magin specializes in intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks and trade secrets. Before starting her career in intellectual property law, Vivien was a scientist researching the molecular and cellular biology of cancer metastasis at the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research in the U.K. After graduating with a Ph.D., Vivien went on to complete two post-doctoral research fellowships: one at Harvard Medical School in Boston studying neurodegeneration, and the other at LSU Medical School in New Orleans researching cardiovascular development.
Vivien obtains valuable IP assets, particularly patents in the U.S. and worldwide, for clients ranging from start-up companies to large corporations, as well as many universities and medical centers. She manages both modest and complex IP portfolios and provides the personal guidance to obtain an IP portfolio that aligns with the business goals of each individual client. In addition to her extensive patent prosecution practice, Vivien is experienced in IP due diligence matters to secure business and financial transactions, working with both companies and venture capitalists, and provides opinions on various IP concerns. Vivien has substantial experience with patent and trademark litigation matters, where she has applied her deep scientific, industry and legal knowledge to provide our clients with important strategic advantages.
Vivien earned a B.Sc., with honors, in Biochemistry and Immunology from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland, a Ph.D. from the University of Glasgow in Scotland, and her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, Boston.
