Principal Mary Lou Wakimura co-presented at the Boston College Law School and Boston Patent Law Association’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee’s co-sponsored event on the “Introduction to Careers in IP Law.” The event took place at Boston College Law School on October 19, 2022, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM.
This event provided an opportunity for students to learn about different career tracks within the field of intellectual property law. The panel included practitioners in different areas of IP law (patent, copyright, trademark). The panelists talked about the importance of IP, how the panelists got into IP law, what their day-to-day work is like, and the push for greater diversity in the IP law field.
Mary Lou is a co-chair of the BPLA’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee. The committee works towards initiating efforts for fostering inclusivity and advancing diversity in the intellectual property legal profession.
