David joined Vistaprint in 2010 as Vice President and Senior Intellectual Property Counsel after a prior 12 years at Invensys plc in a similar executive IP leadership role. At Vistaprint, David and his team are responsible for all aspects of the IP practice including patent and trademark prosecution, IP litigation and related transactional and corporate matters. Prior to starting his in-house career, David was an associate at Heslin and Rothenberg and prior to that, an engineer with IBM. He is a graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology (BEEE) and Pace University (MS-CS, JD) and is admitted to practice in New York, Massachusetts, and before the USPTO.

Andrew is Senior Counsel of Intellectual Property and Litigation at Shionogi Inc. in Florham Park, NJ. In this role, he is responsible for managing all of Shionogi’s litigation and its global intellectual property portfolio. Prior to joining Shionogi, Andrew was a Senior Associate in WilmerHale’s Intellectual Property Litigation group. Before law school, Andrew spent seven years at Wyeth Research developing formulations and analytical methods for protein-based therapeutics and vaccines, including PREVNAR®. He holds a B.S. in Biology from the College of William and Mary, an M.P.H. from Tufts University School of Medicine, and a J.D. from George Mason University School of Law.

Joe Topmiller

Joe Topmiller

Joe Topmiller is currently Deputy Chief Patent Counsel at Zimmer, Inc. in Warsaw, IN. He has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University. He received his law degree from Duke University. After finishing law school, he had a one year clerkship with the Honorable Arthur J. Gajarsa of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C. After his clerkship, he practiced law in the Washington, D.C. office of Covington and Burling where his practice focused on intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution. Since 2004, he has been in-house counsel at Zimmer focusing on patent law.
