John Hamann Selected as Administrative Patent Judge at U.S. Patent and Trademark Office

BOSTON, MA, August 18, 2015 - Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds is pleased to announce that John Hamann, a Principal with the firm, has been appointed an Administrative Patent Judge for the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in Alexandria, Virginia. John will be leaving the firm on August 24, 2015 for his new appointment.
The PTAB is responsible for conducting inter partes review and post-grant review proceedings as set forth in the America Invents Act of 2011. The PTAB has become increasingly important in resolving a large and growing number of patent disputes.
Mr. Hamann has been a member of the firm's litigation team and practices in the electrical and computer arts.
