Oluyinka "Yinka" Green, Ph.D., Joins the Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Team

Yinka is a highly skilled chemist with expertise in medicinal chemistry. She has substantial industry experience, particularly in the areas of small-molecule drug discovery research and development. Yinka assists clients with preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the areas of organic and medicinal chemistry.

Prior to joining the firm, Yinka was a patent agent at Aldeyra Therapeutics, where she worked closely with the company’s inventors and outside patent counsel to manage the company’s intellectual property portfolio.

Before beginning her legal career, Yinka held research, consulting, and intellectual property positions at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Concert Pharmaceuticals, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, AstraZeneca, and Ariad Pharmaceuticals.

While at AstraZeneca R&D Boston as a Principal Scientist, Yinka was a research chemist. She was responsible for hit evaluation, lead identification, and optimization of chemical starting points that led to the identification of a chemical lead series for each of multiple projects that progressed to clinical trials.

At Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Yinka evaluated the Institute’s chemistry-related invention disclosures for patentability, and drafted, reviewed, and negotiated agreements governing academic research collaborations.

Yinka’s educational background includes an M.S. in Regulatory Affairs from Northeastern University, Boston; a Ph.D. and an M.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Manchester, Institute of Science and Technology, United Kingdom, and a B.Sc. in Chemistry (Hons) from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
