Mark is a patent attorney that specializes in drafting and prosecuting patent applications with a particular emphasis in the fields of computer software and hardware technology, telecommunications, electronics and the mechanical arts.  Mark works on patent applications in a variety of computer software and hardware areas including social networking, database and search technology, ticketing systems, audio signal processing and computer-aided design (CAD).  He also works on a variety of patent applications in the field of telecommunications including fraud detection, interconnection and roaming network architectures, Voice over IMS and LTE, Internet of Things (IoT) service architectures, policy control in mobile networks, and underwater wireless communications.

Mark has significant experience in a variety of areas of patent practice, including patent prosecution in the U.S. and foreign jurisdictions, inter partes review before the Patent Trials and Appeals Board, invalidity opinions, freedom-to-operate analyses, prior art searching and patent litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Mark completed an externship with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, where he conducted prior art searches and drafted Office actions for pending patent applications.  He also assisted in drafting petition decisions and reviewed reissue applications.

Before entering the legal industry, Mark held various mechanical and electrical engineering positions, as well as positions in the areas of HVAC automation and monitoring systems.
