Tathagat “Ray” provides expertise and assistance in life sciences patent preparations and prosecution, as well as litigation support.

Ray has trained in biomedical sciences, and has knowledge and experience in immunology, biochemistry, microbiology, cell and molecular biology. Ray’s focus is on technologies and inventions in the field of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, biologics, proteomics, biochemistry, RNAi biology and medical devices.

Prior to joining the firm, Ray was a Ruth L. Kirchstein National Institutes of Health Research Fellow at Boston University School of Medicine, where he was studying the crosstalk of the complement system and innate immune signaling pathways in infectious and chronic inflammatory diseases. Ray also did a postdoctoral fellowship at New York University School of Medicine, where he worked on cardiovascular diseases and chronic inflammation. He holds a doctorate from University of Massachusetts Medical School where he identified and characterized novel complement pathway blocking antibodies in human serum and studied their implication in vaccine design and efficacy.

Ray has presented his research at international scientific meetings and has co-authored several published articles in peer-reviewed journals like Cell, Nature and Journal of Immunology. He has been the recipient of awards and honors including:

  • Ruth L. Kirschstein Institutional National Research Fellowship, 2015-2018
  • Award for research poster presentation at FASEB, Immunological Aspects of Obesity Conference, Montana, USA, 2016
  • NIH Travel Grant Award: XVII International Pathogenic Neisseriae Conference, 2010 in Banff, Canada

Biography

Tathagat “Ray” provides expertise and assistance in life sciences patent preparations and prosecution, as well as litigation support.
