Keith Wood, Counsel at Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds Elected to Boston Patent Law Association’s Board of Governors

Boston and Concord, MassachusettsKeith Wood, Counsel at Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds, was newly elected to serve on the Boston Patent Law Association’s (BPLA) 2022-2023 Board of Governors. Keith’s term as a BPLA Board Member began on December 7, 2022, following the Association’s Annual Meeting. 

As a BPLA Board Member, Keith will perform Board duties assigned by the BPLA President. Keith joins a long legacy of Board members from our firm, which include the following Past Presidents: John DuPré, Susan Glovsky, Mark Solomon, and Deirdre Sanders. Our firm looks forward to Keith’s serving in a leadership role as a member of the intellectual property community.

Keith is a trusted advisor in intellectual property matters both in the U.S. and abroad, with over 20 years of experience. As a seasoned practitioner focusing on patent prosecution and IPR proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, he assists clients including start-ups, universities, and companies of all sizes with building strategic patent portfolios and developing enforcement and defensive strategies. Keith has a background in Physics from Harvard and practices in a wide variety of technologies, such as semiconductor manufacturing, graphene-based materials, microfluidics, medical devices, acoustics, optics, filtration, telecommunications, and clean energy technologies.

The goal of the BPLA is to provide educational programs and a forum for the interchange of ideas and information concerning intellectual property (IP) including patent, trademark, trade secret, and copyright laws. Through a volunteer Board of Governors and its various committees, the BPLA organizes and hosts educational seminars, social events, and other programs. The Association promotes public understanding and appreciation for IP through education of the judicial, executive, and legislative branches of government by providing amicus briefs, regulatory comments, and feedback to policymakers.
