For over 20 years, Keith has handled intellectual property matters both in the U.S. and abroad. He assists clients including start-ups, universities, companies of all sizes and individuals with the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, and counsels clients regarding patent portfolio strategies.
Keith’s patent practice includes a wide variety of physics- and computer-based technologies. He also practices in related technologies, such as semiconductor manufacturing, graphene-based materials, microfluidics, medical devices, cryogenic refrigeration, acoustics, optics, filtration, speech-recognition software, nanomaterials, and clean energy technologies.
Specializing in patent prosecution and preparation of legal opinions, Keith helps clients obtain patent rights worldwide. He manages large patent portfolios, creating consistent strategies across multiple jurisdictions. Keith’s breadth and depth of understanding of each client’s invention is clearly conveyed during examination of patent applications and is consistently effective in obtaining patent rights.
Keith co-authored the articles, “Issue Preclusive Effect of Markman Claim Construction Rulings” and “Indemnification for Patent Infringement under the Uniform Commercial Code,” both of which were published in the Boston Patent Law Association Newsletter.
Keith is currently the co-chair of the Boston Patent Law Association’s International and Foreign Practice Committee and also serves as a mentor for the MIT Enterprise Forum Mentor Smart Program. For several years, he served as Committee Chair of the Energy Special Interest Group of the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge.
