Dr. Sha Bai brings extensive technical experience in organic chemistry, pharmaceutical research, and drug development to her work in patent prosecution and intellectual property counseling, particularly in the life sciences.
Dr. Bai earned her Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Delaware and completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at Harvard Medical School, where she focused on medicinal chemistry and early-stage drug discovery. Dr. Bai is currently a J.D. candidate at Suffolk University Law School expecting to graduate in May 2026. Prior to law school, Dr. Bai spent more than a decade in the biopharmaceutical industry, holding scientific roles at Cerevel Therapeutics, Blueprint Medicines, Agios Pharmaceuticals, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, and Sanofi. Her experience includes process and route development, current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturing, technology transfer, Investigational New Drug (IND) enabling activities, and collaboration with Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs).
Dr. Bai has experience in patent preparation and prosecution in chemistry and life sciences, including managing U.S. and international patent filings, and conducting freedom-to-operate and patentability analyses.
Dr. Bai is a member of the Rehnquist Inn of Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society and a recipient of the Honorable Mention Oral Advocate Award. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications and patent-related works and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
